About the teacher: Dr. Lalit Verma worked in Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences(AIIMS) for 21 years from 1993 to 2003 .His area of specialization includes Vitreous & Retinal Surgery, Endophthalmitis, Laser Surgery, Fluorescein Angiography, ICG, ARMD, Intravitreal Injections, PDT, TTT etc. He has published 160 papers in various international and national journals and authored 41 chapters in different National/ International Books on Ophthalmology. He has Authored “A Manual of Fluorescein Angiography”, CME Series of AIOS. (on Endophthalmitis ; Uveitis ).He had given 110 lectures in international and national conferences and had organized 286 workshop/instruction courses as invited speakers.Dr.Lalit Verma has been the winner of various awards like P.N. Sinha Travel Fellowship (1990), Best Scientific Exhibit at 48th AIOS, 1990,R. N. Roy Memorial Award for best paper, (NIPH, 1993),WHO Fellowship - Vitreo-Retinal Surgery (Dr. Peyman, New Orleans, USA), 1993. A.C. Agarwal Trophy for BEST PAPER at Annual Conference of DOS, 1995; Dr. S. C. Dutt Award by All India Ophthalmological Society (Feb 1997) ,CME CREDIT AWARD (American Society of Contemporary Ophthalmology), 2004, Retina Foundation Oration by Gujarat Ophthalmological Society,4-5 Oct 2008, PK Jain Oration by Delhi Ophthalmological Society22-23 March 2009, Distinguished Service Award by APAO (Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology) at APAO-AAO Joint Meeting in Bali ( Indonesia ), 17 May 2009, Achievement Award by SAARC (South Asian Academy of Ophthalmology) August 2008 just to name a few of the many trophies adorning his cabinet. Presently he is working as the Director, Vitreo-Retina, Centre for Sight, New Delhi & Senior Consultant Eye Specialist & Vitreo Retinal Surgeon in Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi
