About the teacher:
Dr. Samar K. Basak is one of the founder member of Disha Eye Hospitals & Research Centre, Barrackpore, West Bengal. An anterior segment specialist, Dr. Basak has an illustrious academic background having completed his MD from the Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS.
Dr. Basak has been a reviewer for “Opthalmology” journal for 2003-04 and 2004-05. Dr. Samar Basak has been the winner of the K P Roy Award(’95), CS Reshmi Award (2000), Rangachari Award (2001), ET Selvam Award (2002), B K Mitra Award (2004), Sante Vision Award (2005). Best Video Award (ESCRS-2007 & ‘08), ‘Best of Show’ Video & Achivement Award (AAO-2008) ,Gold Medal (BOS-2008) just to name a few of the many trophies adorning his cabinet. He is the author of Essentials of Ophthalmology, Atlas on Clinical Ophthalmology and Ophthaplilately. He is presently working as the Head, Dept. of Cornea, Disha Eye Hospitals & Research Centre, Barrackpore-700120, Kolkata.
